Market Research Quality Management Is Focused

Polaris’ general approach to market research quality is simple and vested in our operating principles: focus on doing the right thing the first time, on time, every time, and always to the customer’s satisfaction. This is accomplished through the involvement of everyone in the organization from the top down, and through commitment to continuous improvement. This way of thinking serves as a cornerstone for the development of our quality policies, which we are working to make consistent with ISO 9001 requirements, as defined by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). An ISO quality standard, specific to social research, is currently under development in the U.S.& Canada, and Polaris is tracking its progress.

While ISO certification is not a credential in high-demand by clients of research suppliers in the United States (more demanded in countries with less sophisticated research industries), we are being pre-emptive in adopting its standards into our quality management process.

On a more specific level, Polaris focuses on building quality into the entire life cycle of the project, as opposed to checking for errors only after a report or dataset is produced. Specifically, we perform quality checks at the following points:

Each type of check is performed by a minimum of three different people. We check for accurate survey data, and also for grammar, spelling, formatting, consistency with previous reports, usefulness of the insights, internal consistency, and much more.
