JOB TITLE:

Data Specialist

Responsibilities:

A person in this entry-level position assists project managers by performing the following tasks:

  • Create, update, and query databases and tables
  • Setup of online reporting system used to report marketing research results to clients
  • Perform quality checks of online reporting system
  • Program and generate crosstabs
  • Program questionnaire scripts using web survey software or CATI (Computer Assisted Telephone Interviewing) System
  • Run tests of significance
  • Program questionnaire scripts in CATI (Computer Assisted Telephone Interviewing) System, Internet Interviewing System, and Interactive Voice Response System
  • Prepare charts and graphs for reports and presentations
  • Check data accuracy and integrity
  • Proofread reports
  • Edit and code respondents’ open-ended responses

Experience / Educational Requirements:

A successful candidate will have demonstrated an interest in marketing research as well as information systems analysis and development through academic courses and/or previous work experience, in particular statistics and management information systems courses. The position requires a fast-learning, detail-oriented person capable of spotting data inaccuracies and inconsistencies. Must have strong writing and verbal communication skills, be analytical, enthusiastic, and work well in a team atmosphere. Word processing, spreadsheet, database experience required.

Must have experience with the following:

  • Relational database theory
  • Structured query language (SQL)

Experience with following is a plus:

  • SQL server
  • Fox Pro
  • Paradox
  • HTML
  • ASP
  • Visual Basic or VB script

Preferably have completed the following courses:

  • Basic Statistics
  • Database Management Systems
  • Visual Basic

JOB TITLE:

Project Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Identify client's research needs and design programs
  • Develop quantitative samplings plans and questionnaires
  • Analyze survey data and write summary reports on findings
  • Train interviewers and field supervisors
  • Supervise data processing procedures
  • Administer mail surveys
  • Prepare charts and graphs for reports and presentations
  • Present findings to clients
  • Supervise vendors and subcontractors

Experience/Education Requirements:

A solid background in marketing research, based on education and experience, is required. The applicant will have either a MBA with an emphasis in marketing research, or a minimum of three to five years experience in marketing research, on either the client or vendor side.

The applicant must have mastered computer word processing and spreadsheet programs and have thorough knowledge of standard research statistical analysis research techniques. Experience with database analysis and crosstab software is required.

Successful applicant must be able to think logically, organize work and pay careful attention to project details. Customer relations skills are essential. The position requires excellent writing and communication skills. Ability and willingness to speak in public to large management groups is required. Experience moderating focus groups is welcomed. This is a management level position.
